Row 7 is eager to connect with passionate and resourceful brand leaders in the food industry who have successfully built and managed breakthrough brand expansion and marketing campaigns and are recognized for building and enhancing creative and diverse teams. The Director of Marketing and Communication will lead the design and execution of integrated marketing initiatives and activations across Row 7’s business. This pivotal executive will be responsible for forming and leading teams and initiatives in creative design, content development, brand activations, and media and public relations. Exceptional leadership and communication skills and out-of-box thinking are essential, along with the ability to adapt to dynamic market conditions. Location: Hudson Valley, NY, hybrid with the ability for approximately 10% business travel as needed

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and execute bold brand strategies and integrated marketing campaigns for continued innovation and growth, ensuring that all aspects of the marketing plan are aligned with Row 7 brand goals, timelines, and budget
  • Lead the timing and execution of new communications campaigns, guiding communications development from brief to launch
  • Define and track goals to measure the success of marketing initiatives. Regularly reports on performance and provides actionable insights and recommendations for improvements
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Row 7’s operations, objectives, and financial performance, driving decision-making through a spirit of business ownership
  • Continually assess evolving industry and societal trends, consumer insights, culture, and the competitive landscape, seeking out opportunities for bold brand action
  • Recruit, train, and continually develop outstanding team members
  • Maintain a culture consistent with Row 7’s mission and community values

Creative and Content Innovation

  • Create and lead strategic creative development briefs to guide the creation of new communication campaigns
  • Manage relationships with internal and external partners across social media, creative, influencers, and agencies
  • Lead in the creation of compelling creative assets and content that resonates with our communities and reinforces our brand identity and values
  • Implement strategies to educate and engage our community, fostering connection and brand loyalty
  • Direct and participate in on-site meetings, photo shoots, and film shoots
  • Lead and manage content and social strategy in partnership with the Content Manager, increasing traffic and engagement

Brand Experience and Activations

  • In collaboration with Row 7 Activations Manager, oversee events and activations strategy, including in-store demo program
  • Lead and manage brand partnerships and sponsorships

Media & Public Relations

  • Collaborate with media agency to build and execute paid media campaigns
  • Lead the development of public & media relations strategies, goals, budgets and methodologies
  • Foster a robust media and industry network, enhance visibility, and cultivate a respected brand image through the development and implementation of impactful PR initiatives

Required education and experience

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with a minimum of 5 years working on strategy and go-to-market plans
  • Deep understanding of the food and culinary industries, with a passion for organic food and agriculture
  • Experience in using consumer insights and data to drive decision-making
  • Team development and leadership experience in a high-growth organization, including management of cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in marketing analytic tools and performance analysis
  • Experience in developing and executing email marketing campaigns to drive customer engagement, loyalty, and sales
  • Experience working directly with creative agencies, content creators, and influencers
  • Strong understanding of consumer research concepts and brand development
