(317) 788-3922(317) 788-3996The Art & Design Department at the University of Indianapolis seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor for Graphic Design.Graphic Design is part of a liberal arts program in the Department of Art & Design and lives alongside BS degree programs in Studio Art, Pre-Art Therapy, and Arts Education. All programs offer a multidisciplinary approach and a breadth of experiences that work toward students building a portfolio. The University of Indianapolis is a teaching-centered institution that also values service to the department, college, and university. Service in the department includes but is not limited to student advising, portfolio reviews, management of the Mac computer labs, department events and exhibitions, in-house design work, etc. Ideal candidates will value and work well collaboratively with faculty from a range of disciplines.The successful candidate will teach undergraduate graphic design courses as part of NASAD-accredited Bachelor of Science degree program. Courses could include design fundamentals of typography, branding, motion design, interaction design, experiential learning, and managing internships.Preference and consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate professional experience in graphic design, university-level teaching experience, and a strong knowledge of digital software and production.
