The position includes identifying and reporting key newsworthy events to maintain a strategic presence throughout print, digital media, social media, district website and electronic communication.COMPENSATION● $60,000-$80,000 based on education and experience● Full benefit package, life insurance, vision, dentalESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES● Oversee all media, publicity and marketing efforts for the district.● Develop and implement the district’s communication plan.● Develop and sustain a unified proactive approach to internal and external communications that includes a consistent, positive and accurate portrayal of the district and all of its schools. Adhere to established design and writing standards.● Work in collaboration with district staff to consistently identify newsworthy events to maintain a strategic presence in print, digital media, social media and throughout electronic communication.● Work in collaboration with district Administrators to write and produce marketing materials and manage all print, digital, broadcast and outside marketing.● Manage all aspects (collection of content, writing, editing, production oversight) of the district newsletter, monthly internal publication, videos and other specialty projects.● Research and recommend best practices in communications.● Write press releases and track impact in the community.● Develop and maintain the district archive of news items and digital images for use online, in print and in other projects.● Attend key district functions and provide photography and writing and posting any news copy and social media coverage of events.● Collect and analyze data regarding marketing and track resulting student enrollment to best pursue and concentrate appropriate efforts to increase outcomes.● Research and apply for local, state and federal competitive grants that support student achievement and the health and well-being of students.● Prepare presentations to report progress to the Superintendent and Board of Education.● Bring a strong voice to the district’s Administrative Team and Board of Education to ensure that decisions are integrated with the district’s communication plan.● Serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet.● Attends meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to excel at leadership functions.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS● An unwavering commitment to students, parents and members of the community.● Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple demands at one time.● Effective problem solving skills with the ability to collaborate with others, consider a variety of information and then take appropriate action.● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, public speaking and presentation skills and interpersonal skills.● Strong team orientation and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the school community.● Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, public relations, English or equivalent concentration or experience, will be considered.● Minimum 3 years experience in communications, marketing and public relations. Experience in PreK-12 public schools is preferred.● Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position.● Alternatives as the Superintendent may deem appropriate or acceptable.● Strong photography, design, writing and editing skills.
