POSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Director Architecture will lead the architectural and creative oversight for RCG New Build Portfolio, guides and support the project's leads across all new builds of all brands. The Senior Director Architecture will be the in-house expert who will be charged with providing architectural and design direction throughout global and local design phases of new ships.In collaboration with the VP and AVP of Architecture & Innovation, the Senior Director will be a pivotal member of the Design organization and is instrumental in the success of New Builds while maintaining RCG's position as a leader in cruise industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES•Provide oversight, design direction, creative controls, and leadership, as well as the facilitation of design and development work, to support RCG's portfolio growth and strategies.•Collaborate closely with the VP and AVP Architecture & Innovation, as well as other internal stakeholders, external partners, and consultants, to ensure alignment with requirements & corporate strategies.•Direct the advancement of a unique and innovative design strategies.•Responsible for all planning efforts and the design process, including aesthetics and creative, brand alignment, architectural design, refine master planning, circulation and traffic analysis, theming, guest experience planning, infrastructure needs, specialty requirements and all other technical and creative aspects of cruise ship design and development.•Work closely with internal brand teams, corporate teams, and external partners.•Manage and oversee communications, contracting, project coordination, and presentations to ensure that work progresses as needed to meet internal strategies and objectives.•Establish and maintain design and operational standards for ship facilities and their associated infrastructure, as well as state room design, and all other guest and crew interface considerations for New Build ship design strategy.•Oversee consultants' design work to ensure compliance with established standards, codes and regulations.•Develop and maintain key industry relationships with architectural & engineering professionals, creative/thematic firms and associated resources, site offices and Mission Control colleagues and Project Management professionals, technical project resources, specialty consultants, business partners, etc.

DESIGN STUDIO LEADERSHIP & DESIGN COMMITTEE•Acts as a proxy for the VP & AVP as needed in their absence. Collaborates with the VP & AVP and assists as needed for all matters related to the design studio organizations.•Design Process strategy advisor to ensure the clear execution of projects including flawless delivery by adhering to schedules.•Directs and oversees global and local design across multiple projects ensuring that all aspects of the design process are met.•Oversees and guides the development and execution of all design scope with Ignition and Concept and/or Global and Local design, aligning closely with Design Studio leadership.•Supports brand strategy and future portfolio outlook. Owns and is accountable for building and maintaining successful partnerships with stakeholders (NB Organization, Brand, Site Offices, Shipyards & Outfitters, Design Consultants, etc.) with support from New Build leadership.•Directs and executes planning of project tasks/phases, ensuring that the team has the resources to deliver the project within approved schedule and budgetary frameworks/ reference in compliance with design standards and guidelines.•Provides oversight and leadership on the assessment and integration of lessons learned and best practices into project processes to drive continuous improvement.

PEOPLE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT•Active talent management and career planning for all team members including Directors, Sr Managers and below. In close collaboration with Design studio leadership.•Develops strategy and goals for team.•Sets appropriate performance objectives for self and direct reports (or project team).

QUALIFICATIONS•Bachelor's degree in architecture, themed architecture, theatre design, product design, production design, interior design.•Advanced graduate degree in a related specialized field.•Minimum 15 years' experience in a related specialized field.•Strong creative thinking with ability to develop innovative ideas and creative problem solving.•Exceptional verbal and written communication and project/program leadership skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at the senior most executive levels of the company.•Ability to assemble, lead and influence cross functional global teams to execute against a vision.•Global experience, and the ability to work within a multicultural environment.•Proven ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others,•Ability to build strong and sustainable relationships along with the capability to interact with all levels of the organization.•Ability to think strategically and drive ideas into action, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal initiative.•Strong storytelling and presentation skills, experience presenting to executive leadership.•Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.•Willingness to take personal initiative.•Attention to detail and follow-through.#J-18808-Ljbffr
