The Manager, Learning Design uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Manager, Learning Design works within specific guidelines and procedures; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines approach, resources, schedules and goals.

The Manager, Learning Design will lead a team of Dynamic Learning Professionals, while executing on the strategy of the Medicaid Learning and Talent development team.In this role you will lead, develop and manage performance of the team.You will be partnering across the Medicaid Department Leaders to determine needs assessments and alignment of work and establishing goals.

Role Overview:

Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content.Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness.Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs.Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators.Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning.Decisions are typically related to alignment of work, program expectation deadlines and performance and people management.Requires cross departmental collaboration and conducts briefings and area meetings; maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department.Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving associate experiences.

Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience6 or more years of Learning or Consulting Experience2 or more years of management/supervisory experience with direct reportsExperience working in a consumer centric company leading the learning function or similar functionDemonstrated capability leading teams and developing and maintaining a dynamic and high performing team culture.Progressive business and data analytics experience with a focus on learning strategies and adult learning theoriesIf located in Louisville, KY, the expectation would be to work a Hybrid work style

Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Learning and Performance; Education; Human Resources, Organizational Design or Related field.Work experience in a health care and / or Managed Care setting

Interview Format

As part of our hiring process, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology provided by Modern Hire, a third-party vendor. This technology provides our team of recruiters and hiring managers an enhanced method for decision-making.

If participating in a pre-recorded interview, you will respond to a set of interview questions via your phone. You should anticipate this interview to take approximately 10-15 minutes.

If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone to answer the questions provided. Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.
